From 1 December 2025, we’re excited to once again manage bookings for our accommodation at Te Kōawa Tūroa o Takitimu, a taoka site of great significance to Kāi Tahu whānui.
We have a lodge that sleeps 26 and a 2 bedroom apartment that sleeps 4.
Te Waiau Mahika Kai Trust, in partnership with Te Anau Waitangi Day Charitable Trust, are holding a Matariki Weaving Wānanga (weekend weaving workshop) at Te Kōawa Tūroa o Takitimu Lodge on the 14th-15th June 2025.

Our Te Taiao Wānanga is aimed at whānau who want to help with our Mahinga Kai Restoration project, connect with others, and reconnect with their ancestral lands
